Facials and Advanced Facial Treatments

Each of these treatments has its own benefits, and there isn’t a one size fits all solution for everyone. The following sections can help you explore your options so you know what to talk to your esthetician about.

In addition to standard and advanced facials, we offer:

A facial treatment is a thoroughly cleansing, exfoliating and nourishing skin treatment. It can promote a clear, extremely hydrated complexion that helps your skin appear younger and more refreshed.

Typically, facials start with a deep cleaning that clears your pores of buildup and toxins. Then, if you have blemishes, your aesthetician may help extract them. From there, you’ll receive a massage and a variety of other treatments, depending on whether you ask for a standard facial or an advanced one. Your esthetician will assess your skin at the time of your appointment and adjust the facial to suit your needs.

A chemical peel is a simple procedure which requires an aesthetician or other skin care professional to apply a chemical solution to your face. The solution gently removes the top layers of skin, and typically, the skin that grows back is smoother and has a tighter appearance. Chemical peels are available in different depths, such as light, medium or deep. If you choose a light or medium chemical peel, your results will be different than they would if you chose a deeper peel. Generally, deeper chemical peels have more dramatic results, but they also take longer for your skin to recover from. Here’s a quick guide:

  • Light chemical peels remove the outer layer of skin and can treat fine lines, acne, uneven skin tones and surface dryness.
  • Medium chemical peels remove the outer layer of skin plus some cells from the upper part of your middle layer of skin. You can use these to treat wrinkles, acne scars and uneven skin tones.
  • Deep chemical peels can treat deeper wrinkles, scars or precancerous growths; these are typically the most effective peels, but they take longer to recover from than other types.

Note that chemical peels can’t remove deep scars or wrinkles, nor can they tighten sagging skin.

Hydrafacials are powerful, noninvasive skin resurfacing treatments. They’re the perfect mix of cleansing, exfoliation and hydration; they remove dead skin cells and impurities while infusing your skin with moisture.

Dermaplaning is a treatment you can use to tackle deep acne scars. Your esthetician will use a handheld instrument called a dermatome that looks a bit like an electric razor; it has an oscillating blade on it that skims off your skin’s surface layers around scars. You may choose a dermaplaning treatment on your entire face or just on parts of it, and you may choose it as the only treatment or in conjunction with other treatments, such as hydrafacial or chemical peels.

Microneedling is a procedure that uses very tiny needles to treat enlarged pores, wrinkles, scars and in some cases, stretch marks. This treatment, which is also called percutaneous collagen induction therapy, creates microinjuries that don’t leave scars. Instead, they stimulate the skin and encourage it to repair itself.

Microdermabrasion gently removes the outer layer of your skin, which can give you a rejuvenated and more youthful look. Often, people use microdermabrasion to treat minor scarring, sun damage, and discoloration or stretch marks. This procedure isn’t right for everyone, so it’s best to discuss your needs your needs with your aesthetician before making a decision. In some cases, a chemical peel or hydrofacial is a better choice.

Waxing removes unwanted hair from nearly any part of your body. If you’re interested in waxing treatments, give us a call and we’ll be happy to walk you through the process and schedule an appointment that works for you.

Protect your skin by staying out of the sun and opt for airbrush tanning instead. This type of sunless tanning coats your skin using a special spray, giving you a perfectly golden look without the risks of sun exposure.
